More than just a new cover

PackSys Global is a member of the German Brückner Group. Based in Switzerland and India, PackSys Global stands for high quality machines for the plastic-processing field in the packaging sector and is setting new benchmarks with their machines all over the world. This also includes the new corporate product design from Vetica.

Vetica was mandated to develop for Packsys Global a consistent, globally applicable design language for all its machines, in order to ensure long-term design quality and control of the international development departments. The heterogeneous product range of Packsys Global includes small single machines of 3×3 meters up to two-storey machines of about 60 meters in length, which function as a complex unit. One of Vetica’s tasks was to develop a simplified machine architecture that would allow for unlimited scaling in all dimensions.

Co-Creation as a key to success

In an intensive co-creation process, with many different development teams in India, Thailand and Switzerland, a common understanding of the concerns of tomorrow’s demanding customers was established in various workshops. The focus lays on usability, ergonomics, feasibility, cost optimization and system design thinking.

Today’s solution is a consistent, modular structure that allows multiple use of different control elements. The further reduction of SKU’s and the development of simple design principles now ensure a long-term product identity for the PackSys Global brand.

Simultaneously with the first prototypes and implementations, the different learnings were also combined in a comprehensive Corporate Product Design Guideline. This guideline is the solid base for any product design in the future and serves as a reference for all internal and external engineers who are working on new machine developments. Topics such as material selection, design and structure, proportions, ergonomics, colours and brand conformity are clearly regulated and ensure a consistent and relevant customer experience.
